For a long time sales was something of a “black box”. Successful salespeople often did not have a clear understanding of what made them so effective. If they did know, they often wouldn’t share their knowledge. You either had this “secret sauce” or you didn’t and the lucky few kept the recipe to themselves and were highly rewarded for it!

Sales wisdom is about transparency not mystery. Of course we want the almost unconscious moments of brilliance that can turn defeat into victory but most victories are achieved by analysing past victories (our own and others) and making success not about lucky chances but professional prowess.

Working with the team has really reinvigorated our passion for keeping it simple and focusing on the things that matter.  In a time when we are all working out how do we ‘get back to normal’, focusing on clear data driven decisions that are linked to delivering real client value must be high on the list of what we need to do. Whilst I believe I have the best team in our industry, having this experienced set of ‘external eyes’ challenge and test us has been invaluable.
